This project focuses on creating a captivating book cover for “A Christmas Sanctuary,” a novel set in 1918 that follows the journey of a Russian refugee family in New York City. As they navigate the challenges of immigrant life and the Spanish flu pandemic, the family's longing for a better future becomes intertwined with the spirit of Christmas.
The goal of the project is to design a book cover that transports readers to the historical setting of early 20th-century America while also evoking the themes of hope, resilience, and the spirit of the holiday season. Through carefully chosen imagery, typography, and design elements, the aim is to capture the essence of the story's historical backdrop and its central message of finding sanctuary amidst adversity.
By crafting a visually compelling and thematically resonant book cover, the aim is to engage readers and entice them to explore the rich narrative within. Through thoughtful design choices, we hope to convey the emotional depth and historical significance of 'A Christmas Sanctuary,' inviting readers to embark on a journey of discovery and inspiration during the holiday season.
I wrote this story in honor of my dad who passed away a year ago just to help me cope with my feelings of fear.
